Spudfall Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 29, 2026
This policy explains what information the Spudfall app for Android ("Spudfall" or "the app") collects, why it does, and who it is shared with. Spudfall is made by A Beautiful Potato ("we", "us").
The short version
• No accounts, no sign-up, no ads, no analytics and no in-app purchases.
• We never ask for your name, email, location, contacts, photos, camera or microphone.
• Your settings and progress are saved on your phone. If backup is turned on for your Google account, Android can also back them up there so they come back on a new phone.
• Information leaves your phone in only two cases: feedback you choose to send (to our feedback service, Talo), and online play, which uses Epic Online Services only after you open the ONLINE screen.
• We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.
1. Information stored only on your phone
Spudfall saves these on your phone:
• your settings (sound, accessibility, language, touch-control layout, vibration);
• your player name, a random potato name the app picks for you (for example "Couch Potato 48");
• your career stats, achievements and personal bests.
We don't receive any of this. If backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may back up your settings and progress to your Google account and restore them when you reinstall Spudfall or set up a new phone. Google handles that backup; we can't see it. Uninstalling the app deletes the copy on your phone.
2. Feedback you send (optional)
Information is sent only if you open About > Feedback and press SEND. It includes:
• your message. Please don't put personal information in it;
• the game version, the platform (Android), your phone model and the game's language;
• a random ID created by the app on your phone. It lets us tell apart messages sent from the same phone.
It isn't linked to your name, phone number or your phone's hardware IDs.
Feedback travels over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to Talo (trytalo.com), the feedback service we use. Like any web service, Talo receives your internet (IP) address as part of the connection. We use feedback only to fix bugs and improve the game.
3. Online play (Epic Online Services)
Spudfall uses Epic Online Services, provided by Epic Games, to find and connect online matches. Nothing is sent to Epic until you open the ONLINE screen. When you do, the app signs in to Epic Online Services anonymously. You don't need an Epic account, and you never type anything.
• Signing in: the app sends an anonymous device credential that Epic Online Services creates and the app stores on your phone, your random potato name and the game version. Epic assigns your copy of the app an anonymous player ID.
• Game listings: when you host a game, a listing with a game name, the game version and whether the match has started is visible to other players looking for a game.
• During a match: game data, such as moves, shots and your potato name, is exchanged with the other players. It goes either directly or relayed through Epic's servers. As with any online connection, other players or Epic's servers may see your IP address.
Epic handles this information under its own privacy policy: https://www.epicgames.com/site/privacypolicy
4. Local Wi-Fi play
When you look for or host a game on your Wi-Fi, the app sends small messages on your local network: the game version, the game's name and the number of players. Other players on the same network see your potato name. When you host, the app shows your phone's local network address so friends can join by IP. None of this leaves your local network.
5. What we don't collect
Spudfall doesn't collect:
• your location;
• your contacts, photos or files;
• your camera or microphone;
• your advertising ID;
• any payment information.
It contains no analytics, tracking or advertising software.
6. App permissions
• Internet and network state: for online play and sending feedback.
• Wi-Fi state and Wi-Fi multicast: to find games on your local Wi-Fi.
• Vibrate: a short buzz when your potato is hit. You can turn it off in Settings > Touch Controls.
7. Who we share information with
We share information only with:
• the service providers named above: Talo for feedback and Epic Games for online play;
• the other players, who see game listings and match data when you play online or on Wi-Fi;
• anyone the law requires us to disclose information to.
We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't share it for advertising.
8. Keeping and deleting information
• On your phone: uninstalling Spudfall deletes everything it stored on the phone, including its random IDs. A backup in your Google account is managed by Google in your Google account settings.
• Feedback: we keep messages only as long as they help us improve the game. To have a message deleted, email us at support@BeautifulPotato.com Tell us roughly when you sent it and what it said, so we can find it.
• Online play: Epic keeps its anonymous player records under its privacy policy. Contact us if you want help with a request to Epic.
9. Children
Spudfall has no accounts and no chat. Players' names are chosen at random by the app, never typed. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a feedback message, contact us and we will delete it.
10. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
• see the personal information we hold about you;
• have it corrected or deleted;
• object to how we use it.
To make a request, contact us using the details below.
11. Changes to this policy
If the app changes what it collects, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date above before the new version is released.
